Our TeamRAD colleagues are our organisation's strongest asset. Working Environment
Our office is based in Colchester on the University of Essex campus; comfortable, light and thoughtfully designed. It has good access to transport links and city life.
Flexible Working - A large number of our roles are either hybrid or home-based.
Equipment
Start Day One with all the equipment you need to do your best work. You’ll get a mobile phone and depending on your role a lap top or PC and, as your role evolves, we’ll upgrade your tools to keep pace.
Salary & Rewards
Salaries for our jobs are advertised as and when vacancies arise, so you know upfront if it’s right for you.
In addition we are a Living Wage Employee.
On offer is a financial package which includes: company-paid life insurance, and company pension.
Training
From attending courses and seminars, including BSL courses, to becoming a mental health first aider, to online learning, RAD offers a generous training budget to staff.
We celebrate successes and take a positive and encouraging attitude towards the learning and development of our staff.
Well-being
At RAD we take the health and wellbeing of our staff seriously.
All staff, get an additional one days leave a year to support their wellbeing and access to our Wellbeing and Safeguarding Officer for support.
We provide staff with 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays (This rises to 27 days for managers and 29 days for directors).
There is long service additional leave entitlement, parental leave and special leave. Other perks include remote and flexible working and a scheme for staff to purchase additional leave.

When applying for any of our roles, you will automatically be redirected to our recruitment portal to complete an online application.
Can I apply via a mobile device?
Our system is compatible with mobile phone devices, laptops and PCs. However, it is recommended to use a laptop or PC when completing the application form.
Regrettably, we do not accept CVs. All applications for our opportunities must be submitted through the online recruitment system.
All applicants will be given the opportunity to sign their application. You will sent a link to upload your signed video. This will be need to be in xx format and should be no longer than 5 minutes.
If you’re applying for a role that requires a criminal record check, you’ll need to complete a self-disclosure form as part of your online application. If you’re offered the role you’ll then need to apply for a disclosure check.
If you've been convicted or cautioned you may still be eligible for appointment depending on the nature and circumstances of the offence. However, failure to disclose details will result in your application being rejected and, if appointed, may lead to dismissal.
To work with us, you must have the right to work in the UK. It is your responsibility to provide evidence of your right to work in line with current Home Office guidelines. Your continued employment is always subject to you having the right to work in the UK.

All applications are shortlisted after the closing date by the relevant recruiting manager and shortlisting panel member/s, according to the person specifications of the job description.
Most of our interviews involve selection tests and/or a presentation which you will be asked to prepare prior to the interview. In some cases we also hold second round interviews. If you are successful at the interview/s, you will be offered the post subject to receipt of satisfactory pre-employment checks.
If successful, you’ll need to provide details of two referees. They should be from your present and most recent former employer.
You’ll also be asked to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK. We’ll also ask you to complete a pre-employment health questionnaire so that we can consider any reasonable adjustments that may be needed.
If a particular qualification is required for the role, you’ll need to provide your qualification certificate.
To ensure a smooth onboarding process, we ask that you complete any materials that our HR Team may have sent to you beforehand. This might include providing references, filling out any necessary documents via DocuSign, undergoing DBS checks, and completing any e-learning modules assigned to you.
We don't pay travel expenses. However if, in exceptional circumstances, it is deemed appropriate to offer travel expenses, details will be included in the recruitment documentation.
Where a role is home based or hybrid the interview will explore your suitability for home working, particularly if you’ve never worked from home before. We’ll require any homeworker to have a suitable space for home working which meets our health and safety and confidentiality requirements. Homeworkers must have a good internet connection and accessibility to transport links.
The challenges of being based at home should not be under estimated. If applying for a home based role any potential barriers should be considered before applying.
